Ventusky is a beautiful, colorful application for weather monitoring. But it doesn’t end there. Aside from its impressive aesthetics, it also contains a vast amount of meteorological information to give you the most accurate forecast.
Our client already had its own application for the web and iOS, so we added an Android version to the collection. The design and function came out of the iOS platform.
Thanks to the clear maps, you can follow the development of weather across the globe. The app has a unique, wide range of display data – information on rainfall, temperature, cloud, snow cover, air pressure, and more. Wind is illustrated effectively through the use of streamlines. You'll enjoy the Ventusky app, and you’ll never have to take a rain check again!
The application is written in Kotlin and we used OpenGL ES to draw the content. We used the Java Native Interface to communicate with the C/C ++ client core.
We turned to Ackee to drive our Ventusky application for Android. Ackee managed to build on our extensive code and prepare it for the Android as well as GUI. During the collaboration, we appreciated the excellent communication and flexibility of Ackee, that was able to respond to project developments in time.
